The First Russia-Pakistan Investment Forum was held in Islamabad

On November 19, 2015 Mr. Viktor Ivanov took part in the opening ceremony of the First Russia-Pakistan Investment Forum. In his speech he noted that trade and economic partnership was the cornerstone of the cooperation between Russia and Pakistan.

He added that it’s imperative to focus on maximum disclosure of the potential of the bilateral interaction, increasing efficiency and opening up new directions of cooperation between our countries. While at the same time Pakistan’s joining The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) brings up a new political vector in our relations within the framework of SCO as well as in the bilateral format.

On the sidelines of the Forum there took place meetings between the Chairman of the Russian State Anti-Drug Committee Mr. Viktor Ivanov and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mr. Navaz Sharif, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Mr. Tariq Fatemi, the Federal Interior Minister Mr. Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and the National Security Adviser of Pakistan Mr. Nasser Khan Janjua.
