The chairman of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan visited Moscow

In the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (CCIRF) a business delegation from Pakistan under the leadership of Mr. Sheikh Muhammad Munir was received.

An opening speech was delivered by the CCIRF Vice-President Mr. Georgy Petrov. Speaking of the present level of bilateral trade, Mr. Petrov noted that in 2014 it reached $457 million. The main export items were food and agricultural raw materials, timber, pulp and paper products, metal products. Russian imports were textile, footwear, agricultural products and food.

Mr. Munir noted the positive development of the Russian-Pakistani trade and economic cooperation; Mr. Minir believes that there is still a room for considerable improvement for the mutual benefit.

Director of the St. Peterbourg Branch of the Russian Business Council for Cooperation with Pakistan Mr. Sergey Mikaelyan reported on preparations for the First Russian-Pakistani Investment Forum which is scheduled within the framework of the 4th Session of Russia-Pakistan Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation to be held in Islamabad on November 20-21, 2015.

Also present at the meeting were Executive Director of RBCCP Mr. Zakhid Ali Khan, Director of the Research Institute of the RSADC Mr. Ilnur Batyrshin, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Cooperation with Asia and Oceania Mr. Sergey Vassiliev.
