Sergei Mikaelian met with Pakistani delegation in St. Petersburg

During the 15th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum head of the St. Petersburg branch of the Business Council for cooperation with Pakistan at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergei Mikaelian met with representatives of the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan: Pakistan’s ambassador in Moscow, Mr. Muhammad Khalid Hatake, head of the Investment Department of Pakistan, Mr. Salim Mandvivalla, head of the Trade Mission of Pakistan in Russia, Mr. Ilyas Ghauri, the Honorary Consul of Pakistan in Saint Petersburg and Leningrad region, Mr. Rauf Rind.
Meeting agenda included prospects of business cooperation, attracting investments, work plan of the St. Petersburg branch. The ambassador invited Sergei Mikaelian to Pakistan in September 2011 to events dedicated to the twinning agreement between St. Petersburg and Karachi. Speaking about the prospects of cooperation between two countries, head of the Investment Department of Pakistan, Mr. Salim Mandvivalla expressed interest in involving St. Petersburg companies to energy, industrial and other projects starting in Pakistan in the nearest future.
Head of the Trade Mission of Pakistan, Mr. Ilyas Ghauri said that St. Petersburg is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and it has a great potential for development. “Together with the Russian Business Council for cooperation with Pakistan we will do everything possible to increase trade turnover and open new opportunities for business development in both countries”, – said Ilyas Ghauri. Mr. Rauf Rind noticed that while development of business contacts it is necessary to work in such areas as health, tourism, education and culture.
