Honorary Consul of Russian Federation in Pakistan (Lahore) Mr. Habib Ahmed and director of
Sergey Mikaelyan, director of St. Petersburg branch of Russian Business Council for Cooperation with Pakistan, met with Mr. Habib Ahmed, Honorary Consul of Russia in Pakistan (Lahore). Mr. Habib Ahmed was appointed Honorary Consul in 2013. He is a prominent Pakistani businessman who largely contributed to strengthening Russian-Pakistani cooperation.
The meeting covered issues concerning the opportunity for Pakistani companies to enter St. Petersburg market. Mr. Mikaelyan informed that the amount of foreign investments in St. Petersburg’s economy increased by 25% since 2012, reaching 13,4 billion rubles. “According to the experts, St. Peterburg is characterized as a region with the highest investment potential and the lowest risks,” noted Mr. Mikaelyan.
Mr. Ahmed acknowledged that a number of large Pakistani companies wish to invest in St. Petersburg-based projects. He showed interest in mutual promotion of business and cultural cooperation.
